Motif Labs is seeking a skilled Procurement Director to lead procurement operations and optimize supplier relationships. The role involves negotiating contracts, analyzing market data, and implementing efficient procurement systems. The Procurement Director will mentor the team, oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, and collaborate with various departments to streamline processes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular reviews of supplier and contracts, proactively identifying opportunities to renegotiate as necessary - contract manufacturers are also considered within scope of oversight for this role including auditing of materials allocated, turnaround time adherence and managing of escalations or re-prioritization of schedules as necessary.
  • Responsible for leading supplier negotiations and contract terms/conditions for serial production materials.
  • Develop strong relationships with vendor base, leveraging volume-based price points to trigger supplier adjustments once conditions are met.
  • Establish and analyze market data for commodities managed, including financial status of vendors utilized, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Develop long term cost reduction strategies with strategic suppliers, identifying opportunities to reduce lead times and/or alternate cash flow benefits.
  • Continuously review existing supply chain, strategically sourcing new suppliers as necessary.
  • Implement sound procurement systems, processes and procedures that will scale with our business needs while reducing overall administrative burden.
  • Audit and monitor procurement systems, processes and procedures driving continuous improvement as required.??
  • Experience working within ERP / MRP environments, leveraging base data parameters and settings to drive accurate automated transactions.
  • Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement strategies and cost reduction initiatives.?
  • Work closely with the Brands, Finance, Innovation, and Supply Chain teams on purchasing activities.?
  • Assist with new product development projects when required. 
  • Act as a mentor to the procurement team, creating development plans to grow their capabilities and capacity.
  • Develop, monitor and report out of performance metrics for the procurement team.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management.
  • Proven track record in negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships.
  • Experience in implementing procurement systems and processes for scalability.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience within a procurement team.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and ability to analyze market data.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain dynamics and procurement principles.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive approach towards continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Optional: Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, CPM).
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business needs and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
