Position Summary

We are looking for a Warehouse/Production Supervisor, to join the Production team at our state-of-the-art ice cream factory, located in London, Ontario. This position will work on various shifts as needed, as well as weekend work. The incumbent will ensure all quantitative and qualitative measures in the warehouse operating plan are met, including those related to Labour Utilization and Scheduling, Losses, Health & Safety and compliance with GMP’s and Food Safety.

A day in the life of...

As a Warehouse/Production Supervisor you will supervise the movement of all goods.  Externally includes: carrier selection, load planning, and cost/benefit analysis. Internally includes: space planning, equipment and resource management. You will effectively manage all relevant administrative processes in a timely and accurate manner.

You will also:
•    Communicate with other Shift Supervisors, Team Members and Site Management on KPI’s.
•    Ensure inventory accuracy and maintain FEFO adherence.
•    Maintain Department in compliance to Nestlé’s Quality System, Agriculture Canada, GMP, HACCP and Food Safety Criteria.
•    Participate in and help lead all Lean Enterprise initiatives
•    Initiate process improvements by coaching to identify potential savings, optimize performance levels and assist with their implementation.
•    Promote and enhance a positive labour management relationship including efforts to continuously improve teamwork and establish high levels of employee involvement. 
•    Deliver effective training and performance management to the warehouse workforce.
•    Coordinate with all Departments to maximize overall effectiveness and efficiency of the Warehouse/ Production operation.
•    Ensure adherence to site and corporate safety, quality and production SOPs and policies.
•    Participate in Nestle Continuous Excellence and Total Performance Management activities as assigned
•    Continually review existing processes and procedures in order to implement improvements.
•    Other projects as assigned.

What will make you successful

As the successful candidate, Pro-activity, tenacity and enthusiasm are essential, as is your ability to understand and work within our competitive market. You will also:

•    Previous supervisory or related experience in a production environment, preferably in the food industry, would be an asset.
•    Experience with TPM/LEAN would be an asset.
•    Positive working experience within a unionized environment.
•    Solid understanding of operations, quality assurance and safety regulations. 
•    Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Programs. Strong SAP computer skills are required. 
•    The successful candidate is a creative thinker with strong analytical and organization skills. They will be able to work independently and cope with conflicting demands in short time periods.
