Adescor:

Adescor is a North American based, industry leading supplier of downstream equipment for the corrugated pipe and extruded pipe industry. We are a team of engineers, technical specialists, innovators, and problem solvers focused on developing solutions that make our customers successful.

We design, build, and support a comprehensive line of downstream equipment for extrusion and corrugated pipe production; pipe haul-offs, cut-offs, perforators, filter loaders, spin welders, inner liner trimmers, and coilers. We can design and integrate a complete downstream automation system for your extrusion line that is validated before delivery. Under our parent company Parmerit Inc. we can also design and manufacture custom industrial machines for sheet winding, material handling, and packaging for the plastics industry.

We apply our product and automation knowledge to your problem, developing solutions that meet your specific needs. Our team has grown to include knowledge and experience in robotics and automation which we can leverage to develop best in class solutions that meet the needs of today’s changing manufacturing landscape.

The Adescor product line is now being engineered and manufactured at Parmerit’s plant in Strathroy, Ontario.

Role Purpose: Applications Engineering is the first point of contact for customer inquiries, quotations, and order acceptance. They are responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of full-cost estimates for products and projects. When business needs require, they may also be asked to grow our customer base by generating new sales leads. This individual's contributions are critical to the growth goals of the business.

Reports To: General Manager

This is a key role in our growth strategy and requires the right person with growth potential, motivation to excel, and the right mix of qualifications and experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and/or coordinate the preparation of full cost quotes and proposals based on Customer requirements and needs.
• Gather information for quoting projects as required.
• Establish and maintain positive customer relationships through in depth customer knowledge and proactive communication.

• Help the Company streamline its quoting process by applying standardization where practical.
• Share insights into high-risk scenarios in order to protect the Company and Customer.
• Work with Project Management to evaluate and recommend allowances for indirect costs, design unknowns, management reserve and contingency.
• Interface with internal Purchasing and Engineering teams.
• Review quotes with Project Management as part of the approval process.
• Perform quote follow-up with Customers.
• Manage and store data in an organized manner in order to facilitate future quoting based on historical data.
• Increase customer base and market penetration for the Machining, Automation, and Systems business.
• Generate leads and reach out to prospective customers.
• Maintain in depth knowledge of business/products to educate and advise customers.
• Collaborates with internal teams to provide solutions that deliver optimal Customer value.
• Perform other duties as assigned, may be asked to support project management for key client projects

Qualifications & Experience:

• Postsecondary degree or diploma in a technical field (mechanical, manufacturing, mechatronics, etc.)
• Previous experience in quoting automation including good understanding of the following (an asset): Machine & Process Design (incorporates ergonomics and safety best practices), machining / fabricating, quality (print reading), controls, project budgeting
• Computer proficiency, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).Experience utilizing quoting software (ex. E2) considered an asset.
