QA Coordinator

Introduction


The QA Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating activities of staff and monitoring the production of regulatory compliant product. The QA Coordinator will be dedicated to ensuring compliance across all departments with an emphasis on finished products. Reporting to the QA Supervisor, the QA Coordinator will be responsible for ensuring that Good Production Practices (GPP) and all applicable regulations laid out by the Cannabis Act are adhered to at all times. Shift work is required for this position which include weekends. Our production facility is located in Aylmer, Ontario.

Position Overview:
  • Act as shift lead for QA associates ensuring they are properly trained and prioritizing activities to support operations
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of QA documentation, adhering to Good Documentation Practices on all applicable documents related to GPP
  • Oversee completion of finished product releases in a timely manner by working closely with our packaging department
  • Draft and Review SOPs to ensure continuous compliance
  • Investigate and complete deviation reports, complaints, and CAPAs
  • Review and approve batch records and Certificates of Analysis ensuring that product meets quality and regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for oversight and control of non-conforming product - suspect lab results, processing issues, etc.
  • Perform site walk-throughs and AQL checks within production
  • Ensure that critical control points per PCP are maintained and within requirements
  • Escalate quality issues appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Main contact on the production floor for quality related issues
  • Report shift summaries to QA Supervisor on a weekly basis
  • Ensure that all staff are adhering to facility SOPs and GPP at all times
  • Other job duties as assigned


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or College Diploma in science or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in Quality Assurance in a GMP environment, pharmaceutical and/or food and beverage industry
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in Quality Assurance in the Cannabis industry
  • Experience with Quality Systems: Change Control, Deviation, CAPA, Document Control
  • Ability to prepare and present reports to management pertaining to non-conformances
  • Ability to balance priorities in a dynamic environment and collaborate with a cross-functional project team
  • Must have proven ability to lead, make decisions, facilitate change, manage conflict, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with attention to detail for successfully satisfying diverse responsibilities
  • Ability to read and correctly interpret documents such as safety rules, regulations, and specifications
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with employees and management at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Shift work is required for this position
  • Required to pass a criminal background check
