Procurement Manager

Drive the strategy behind the supply base supporting our critical defense programs. General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada (GDLS-C) is looking for an experienced people leader to manage a high-performing team and help shape sourcing, supplier relationships and procurement solutions that deliver value to our business and customers.

This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by combining strategic thinking and people leadership to strengthen our supply base, manage risk and drive value across the business. Working closely with leaders and cross-functional teams, the Procurement Manager will develop and execute strategies that support the successful delivery of our programs.

What You Will Do

• Lead, coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, establishing and monitoring team goals, KPIs and performance.
• Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities, including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiations and contract management.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring performance, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business and program requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, supplier performance and overall value.
• Ensure procurement activities align with GDLS-C, divisional and customer requirements, policies and procedures.
• Support procurement reviews, special projects and business initiatives.
• Provide leadership with updates on procurement activities, supplier performance, risks and emerging issues.
• Act as a delegate for the Department Director, as required.

What You Bring

• University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, or a related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, including experience leading high-performing teams.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships.
• Strong customer focus and collaborative approach.
• Strong negotiation skills and comfort working with technical information.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 10% Canada / 10% U.S. & international).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, and/or subcontract management.
• Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of GDLS-C Terms & Conditions and/or contracts.
