The Role

Convergix Automation Solutions is looking for a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP PMO, Continuous Improvement and Quality, the successful candidate will be responsible for planning, developing and executing Continuous Improvement activities within CGX Solutions utilizing Lean Six Sigma Tools. You will manage cross-functional teams to successfully complete these initiatives. Additionally, you will facilitate targeted actives in support of the business including but not limited to; lessons learned, value-stream mapping, rapid improvement Kaizen events and identifying and eliminating barriers to continuous improvements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize continuous improvement initiatives effectively.
  • Define measurement criteria, quantify results, and outline expected benefits.
  • Streamline processes by identifying and eliminating waste.
  • Maintain and update the database of improvement projects.
  • Create clear problem statements and conduct gap analyses.
  • Establish actionable metrics and benchmarks to monitor progress.
  • Train and empower teams to lead projects and share best practices across units.
  • Provide motivation, focus, and direction while presenting regular project updates.
  • Evaluate project effectiveness and ensure cost-saving targets are met.
  • Mentor and train employees in Lean Six Sigma tools, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience deploying Lean Six Sigma, including experience in both direct and indirect (transactional) processes
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  • Have led at least 10 continuous improvement projects and/or formal Kaizen events
  • Must have the ability to become proficient in company systems, processes, and tools
  • Experience in custom engineered solution businesses as well as factory automation is ideal
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and MiniTab, experience with LeanDNA preferred
  • 3+ years supervisory experience preferred
  • Reliable transportation and an ability to travel; CI Specialists at Convergix should have the ability to travel within the US and Canada

 

Physical Demands

  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel objects, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lifts or move up to 25 pounds.

Compensation
Competitive salary range: $130,000- 175,000 CAD based on experience.
