Tool and Die Maker

Function: Maintenance and support for production tooling, maintain dies and perform preventative maintenance.  
Geographic Scope: Working in the plant environment
Reports to (Job Title):          Maintenance Manager 

Provide maintenance and support to the production tooling, maintaining dies and performing preventative maintenance. Maintain a safe working environment. Performing duties in a safe, efficient and proper manner. Applying and meeting all applicable codes, standards and/or regulations when doing work. Keeping toolroom area and equipment clean using a 5S approach. Maintain daily records of work completed. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on all tools. Preparing and maintaining records of changes done to tools and preventive maintenance on the tools. Maintain cast and trim tools ensuring they are in good operating condition. Desoldering of cast tools and breakdown repairs. Participating in training on site and skill transfer programs for apprentices with regular review of the practical training progress. Other duties as required including special projects as they arise.
 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Show maturity, good judgment, reliability, verbal and written communication skills

SKILLS
Be capable operating ID / OD grinder, lathe, radial arm drill, milling machine. 
Must be competent in the use of hand, bench and portable power tools, jigs and fixtures, and precision measuring equipment.
Be capable of troubleshooting all aspects cast and trim tools.

EXPERIENCES
Certificate of Qualification, Certificate of Apprenticeship (Toll & Die Maker or General Machinist)
Certificate of Qualification, Certificate of Apprenticeship (Mold Maker)

Background as a licensed skill trade person within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of company policies & procedures.
Be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations
Knowledge of applicable government codes, rules and regulations and be able to keep up to date of changes of these codes.
Job Location: Ljunghall Canada LTD (Potential for limited local or international travel for training or division support on an as required basis)

Certificate of Qualification, Certificate of apprenticeship – Mold maker
Work Experience: General Machinist
Preferred: Tool and Die Maker, Mold Maker
