Job Summary
To provide the organization with all facets of manufacturing including equipment, tools, building and instructions to facilitate the production of high quality magnesium die-castings that meet customer requirements. Also, improve all operations through a planned program of continuous improvements and to provide ongoing support to the manufacturing group.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Writing specifications for the purchase of new or replacement equipment.
- Overseeing the acquisition and installation of new equipment.
- Working closely with suppliers to ensure that products are delivered on time and to specifications.
- Project management: Continuous improvement of existing equipment.
- Implement new technologies at manufacturing cells.
- Troubleshooting: solving and correcting failed or inconsistent manufacturing equipment and systems.
Education, Experience and Skills
- Bachelors’ Degree or Technical Diploma in Engineering Discipline
- A Minimum of 3-5 years automotive engineering experience
- Significant project management experience (PMP is an asset)
- Excellent Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting experience with elevated understanding of Allen Bradley/Siemens control systems
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM systems, personal computers and software.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, physics, costing, and value analysis
- Understanding of the OH&S Act and Regulations as well as legislative and customer requirements for item specifications.
