The S&P Manager plays a critical role in aligning demand and resource planning with the opportunity pipeline.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the means of consistent tracking, distributing, and reporting of the full pipeline within the Heavy Commercial segment from leads, to spec, to quote to order.
  • Collaborate with Delta Commercial sales agency partners and BDMs to share opportunities, assist in spec writing, holding the spec through order and tracking win/loss data.
  • Leverage external networks and industry knowledge to unlock, optimize, and accelerate growth.
  • Perform project specification crossovers and take-offs as needed to win near-term business opportunities.
  • Bring strategic insights and new perspectives that drive differentiation in the specification community.
  • Manage the current and future needs of lead and specification tools (i.e., MasterSpec, SpecLink, Dodge, Construct Connect, etc.).
  • Initiate, lead and direct process improvements balancing agility and structure as pipeline scales.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including sales, marketing and IT to enable pipeline automation and optimization.
  • Ensure consistent tracking, measurement, and communication of progress toward key business goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (equivalent combination of education and experience considered)
  • 5+ years’ experience in commercial construction, specification, or project-opportunity management (e.g., working with architects, engineers, design/build mechanical contractors, and specifiers).
  • Proven ability to govern and report an end-to-end pipeline (lead qualification, opportunity sharing/routing, stage management, and win/loss tracking) with strong attention to data quality.
  • Hands-on familiarity with specification and lead-intelligence tools such as MasterSpec, SpecLink, Dodge, ConstructConnect (or equivalent platforms), including maintaining product presence and content.
  • Strong analytical and data-mining skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights for Sales/Marketing and demand/resource planning.
  • Experience collaborating with external partners (e.g., rep agencies) and internal stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, IT) to drive adoption of process, tools, and consistent reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including supporting proposal development and specification language efforts.
  • Understanding of basis-of-design influence and how specs are held through order.
  • CRM, workflow, and reporting experience (e.g., Salesforce) including pipeline automation, lead routing, and dashboarding (Power BI/Tableau).
  • Industry credentials (e.g., CSI CDT/CCS, PMP, Lean/Six Sigma) or related training in process improvement.
