This is your chance to gain real-world field experience and help shape the infrastructure and communities around us. As a Construction Materials Field Technician – Student in our London office, you’ll join a team that supports the quality and safety of the buildings, roads, and public spaces people rely on every day.
You’ll work closely with experienced technicians and engineers who will guide your learning and help you build strong technical foundations through hands-on work in the field and laboratory.
Your Impact
- Perform field Quality Control (QC) and Quality Assurance (QA) tests on soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregates under supervision.
- Conduct soil and asphalt compaction testing to help confirm compliance with project specifications.
- Assist with subgrade and footing inspections to support field teams and project engineers.
- Collect and document material samples and contribute to accurate reporting.
- Help maintain and calibrate field and lab equipment so testing remains reliable.
- Uphold WSP’s strong commitment to safety and quality at every job site.
- Learn industry standards including CSA, CCIL, and ASTM methods while supporting certified team members.

- You’re currently pursuing a Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Geotechnical, or related engineering degree.
- You’re eager to learn and comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- You bring curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to take on hands-on technical tasks.
- You can work independently when needed but thrive with team guidance and mentorship.
- You have a valid driver’s licence (or are in the process of obtaining one) and are open to occasional travel, overtime, or weekend work when required.

Compensation
AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $24.00 – $32.25/hour
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25/hour
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $21.50 – $30.25/hour
