Unifin International is a business unit within Wabtec Corporation’s Components Division. Originally founded in the 1920’s, Unifin International is an electric equipment-cooling company focused on the power generation and transmission markets. Our primary business is within North America, but it reaches worldwide from legacy fossil fuel and nuclear plans, to growing renewable energy power grids.
Who will you be working with?
As a member of the team at Unifin International, you will work closely with 32 production employees, 1 Production Supervisor, the JHSC and 1 continuous-improvement leader.
How will you make a difference?
- Uphold priorities of Safety, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Teamwork and Leadership;
- Develop procedures to help the team understand how to correctly perform a task or function. These procedures will be approved by management before implementation.
- Develop lockout tagout (LOTO) procedures to ensure employees are working safely. These procedures will be approved by management before implementation.
- Help identify and implement process improvements to reduce costs, minimize waste and increase efficiency.

What will your typical day look like?
- Help identify which tasks on the production floor need written, step-by-step process procedures and lockout/tagout (LOTO) instructions;
- Collaborate with operators and supervisors to understand how each task is done;
- Write clear and easy-to-follow instructions for workers to use;
- Take photos of processes and make simple visual instructions;
- Make sure the instructions are reviewed and approved before implementation;
- Support training by explaining new or updated instructions to staff;
- Keep documents organized and make updates when processes change;
- Ask for feedback from workers to improve the instructions;
- Follow company safety and quality standards when creating documents;
- Additional important tasks will arise as Unifin is a busy and exciting company;
- Work with cross-functional teams to accomplish goals.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee would work at a desk for approximately 50% of the workday. The employee will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and depth perception.
Safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed safety shoes and hearing protection must be worn when on the shop floor.

Rate of pay: $22.00 per hour; 40-hour work week, 8 hours per day Monday through Friday.
The selected candidate will be required to work onsite; no hybrid time working from home.
