Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist who enjoys connecting the dots between suppliers, operations, and logistics to keep things running smoothly. In this role you will work closely with internal teams and external supplies to help drive efficient warehouse operations, manage supplier performance, and support critical supply chain activities that keep our business moving.
KEY JOB ELEMENTS:- Oversee warehouse activities to support efficient daily operations
- Ensure supplier compliance with GDLS-C requirements, including Government Property compliance
- Support inbound material forecasting for both government property and supplier materials
- Monitor and manage supplier performance metrics to ensure operational effectiveness
- Coordinate scopes of work, turnaround times, purchase orders, and cost allocations for outside services
- Support supplier activities to ensure accurate and timely completion, including invoicing, quoting, supplier management, and Purchase Orders
- Partner with indirect suppliers to support key activities and ensure timely deliveries and execution of services, including:
- Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) activities
- Facility maintenance services
- Collaborate across teams to ensure timely service delivery and material availability
- Support special projects and process improvements that enhance operational efficiency and supplier performance
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:- University degree in business or supply chain related discipline
- Minimum 3-5 years’ relevant experience
- Strong ability to collaborate with internal teams (e.g., PMC) to coordinate material flow.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing subcontract performance metrics and scope.
- Experience in managing scopes of work, turnaround times, issuing purchase orders (POs), and cost allocations.
- Proficiency in providing administrative support for supplier activities, including invoicing, quoting, and supplier management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries and execution of services.
- Strong analytical skills to perform proactive analysis to minimize downtime and ensure material availability.
- Innovative mindset for long term problem solving
- Proficient in MS Office applications and Oracle
- Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-complexity environment.
- Process and results oriented
- Ability to travel up to 15% as required and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:- Proven experience in overseeing 3rd party logistics and ensuring compliance with company requirements.
The Procurement Specialist opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $67,200 to $84,000 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more.
