Warehouse Shipper
The Shipper is to ensure that all orders are prepared for shipping via the most economical and efficient way possible. Prepares orders for transport and reports to management, sales and occasionally to customers the status of the orders shipped.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for shipments to customers and organizing delivery schedules with transport companies; ensures correct merchandise is shipped to customers according to order on bills of lading, special attention to details such as product codes, brand names for specific customers and paperwork insofar documentation is concerned; ascertains correct weights and dimensions are recorded on the truck bills of lading for freight purposes.
- Load trucks for customer shipments.
- Prepare sales orders for shipment to customers, including pick, packaging and labelling orders.
- Maintain organized storage or product received from the plant.
- Perform inventory functions as necessary, such as cycle counting.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in NetSuite/RFSmart for all product movements (put away, picks, transfers, etc.).
- Must have forklift experience and responsible for daily safety check of forklift and vehicles and to safely drive equipment in a safe manner.
- Ability to work co-operatively and communicate effectively with co-workers.
- Seeking direction as needed from Warehouse Supervisor, Production Leaders and co-workers.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Minimum 2-year related experience
- Ability and experience operating a forklift truck, reach truck and pump truck safely
- Ability to read, write and perform arithmetic computations is required in counting and checking inventory received, and the preparation of receiving records
- High attention to detail essential with ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment
- High attention to internal and external customer needs
- Good organizational ability to coordinate receipt of raw materials and their proper storage
- Assist in picking parts/KANBANs for production as requested
- Must be versatile and be able and willing to perform unrelated tasks as assigned
