Sr. Analyst - Operations Excellence

The Opportunity:

The Senior Analyst – Operations Execution is a key role in the Maple Leaf London plant, a world class processing facility that began operations in 2022. As a member of the on-site London Planning team, the Senior Analyst will be responsible for key day to day reporting on manufacturing as well as being a key user for many of the new software solutions that have been deployed at the site.  This curious, thoughtful, and collaborative individual will lead communications across the facility on priorities for the day, data integration as well as identifying and leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:

Daily:
  • Generate KPI reports for plant leadership review.
  • Validate SAP goods receipts in SAP and compare with schedule requirement.
  • Monitor plant performance and production data. Daily checks to ensure assets are online and accuracy of data.
  • Administer SharePoint tools and forms. Ongoing updates and maintenance of master data which drives these tools.
  • Key User for new system integration of CSB to planned orders (SAP Production Scheduling) as well as Ishida weight data management.
  • Key User and responsible for Meyn Distribution Manager (DMX) system, directing cut-up sequencing
Weekly/Monthly:
  • Evaluate and update key assets (machine) capacities
  • Generate ad-hoc SharePoint tools to support plant wide functions for all departments.
  • Generates automated intelligence software reports (SAP, Carlisle, etc).
  • Master data analytics and maintenance of data across piece weights, quality entitlement, throughput rates & yields.
Analytics:
  • Ensure all operations related information is correctly captured in Line Visualization System (LVS)
  • Investigate discrepancies in LVS and yield data. Ensure line time is accurately reported.
  • Administer LVS master data (entitlement rates, UOM conversions, machine target settings). Quarterly update entitlement rates in LVS to sync with latest Industrial Engineering (IE) data.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Support the execution of projects both supporting analytics, aggregating information, and participating in Continuous Improvement events such as Kaizens.
  • Executing floor level studies relevant to current projects or new opportunities to define pipeline opportunities.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement PDCA (Plan/Do/Check/Act) project(s) towards achieving the goals of the plant’s Operations Excellence waste elimination pillar.

Position Outcomes:

  • Key priorities and change requirements understood by operations team to achieve schedule and meet operational standard throughput rates
  • Volume/profit optimization of fresh chicken supply
  • Integration of data from live receipt through outbound shipment in the London facility leveraging key software investments
  • Roadmap maintained and actioned on facility continuous improvement opportunities
  • Achievement of annual financial and business targets (i.e. Raw Material Utilization, Yield performance, OEE, etc)

What You’ll Bring:

  • Experience in a commissioning/start-up manufacturing setting an asset
  • Experience in manufacturing operations (preferably fresh meat processing)
  • Proficient in MS Office Software (particularly Excel)
  • Experience using SAP (or similar ERP system) an asset
  • Bachelor or Science/Engineering/Commerce
  • 5-8  years of experience in a related role
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organizational skills
    • Ability to operate and learn independently in a fast-paced environment.
    • Capable of making difficult prioritization decisions based on evolving manufacturing and customer service needs
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Outstanding change management and conflict resolution skills
    • Ability to build a strong working relationship with other functional teams including production and sales stakeholders
