Operations Technical Applications Development

Key focus:

  • Reporting to OTA manager, this position is responsible for supporting technical requirements associated with LSR injection molding processes; tooling, equipment, programming and robotics with a focus on new project launches, continuous improvement initiatives and claims resolutions              
  • Responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of Injection Molding process to support the production work schedule
  • Support OTA Manager as liaison with Starlim Austria as required
  • Become a vital part of the organization with a focus on maintaining a high standard

 

We require a Applications Development Team Member who will be responsible for:

  • Support new project launches with tool transfer, validation and run@rate/test run sampling activities
  • Establish optimal molding processes on new and existing tooling with an emphasis on zero defects and meeting customer requirements
  • Support OTA Manager with tool improvements and modification activities with Starlim Austria & Sterner business unit
  • Participate and lead continuous improvement initiatives as assigned
  • Assist OTA Manger/Team leader with customer complaint resolution
  • Conduct test runs for material sampling of new or experimental silicones
  • Support OTA department with training of employees as required
  • Regular communication of department updates/training documents from Starlim Austria
  • Establish & maintain OTA work instructions and procedures
  • Assist OTA Manager with TIG Authentig files and data analysis as required
  • Set up new molds, running molds and change inserts, seals and bearings on the mold in a machine
  • Carry out complete mold change overs
  • Production start up of injection molds and proper handoff
  • Troubleshoot molding process and make necessary adjustments to produce quality parts
  • Utilize measuring equipment, tools, and gauges as required
  • Assemble, set up, and program tooling, machinery and equipment
  • Ensure compliance to safety rules, procedures, and company policies
  • Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Team Leader
  • Communicates effectively through all levels of the organization                                                               
  • Support Environmental, Health & Safety initiatives throughout the facility, ensuring safety, housekeeping and quality standards are maintained

 

Do you have?

  • College Diploma or Technical apprenticeship            
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in fully automatic injection molding
  • Experience with Quality System Requirements, such as ISO 9001, TS 16949, ISO 13485 and APQP
  • Oriented to a manufacturing organization
  • Experience with customer complaint (8D)
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing environment
  • Advance knowledge of engineering terminology, liquid injection molding processes, tooling and procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Above average technical understanding and willing to learn new processes and concepts
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Ability to understand product measurements and correlate them to process adjustments
  • Experience and understanding of process change management
  • Strong oral and written communication skills

 

Successful candidate will also have:

  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work with frequent interruptions
  • Crane/ hoist certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Must be able to work over time when required
