OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR

We are currently seeking a motivated Operations Supervisor who is responsible for planning of the daily and weekly workloads to achieve departmental and facility objectives through the corporate values of integrity, diversity and delivering expected results. This role is charged with the goal to effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction.

This role is located in London, Ontario and reports to the Senior Operations Supervisor.

SHIFT STRUCTURE

This role is required to work the shift structure of a 2-3-2, 4 week days and 4 week nights, 12 hour shift rotation. Work outside of standard schedule may be required, in order to effectively support the location's 24/7 operation.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS THAT MATTER

  • Promote a Health and Safety, 5s, Food Safety and GMP Culture by adhering to company standards at all times.
  • Drive a Lean Culture focus that promotes performance by analyzing data to reduce waste, inefficiencies, while improving working conditions.
  • Ensure daily and weekly productivity and department targets are met or exceeded, while maintaining adherence to established methods to measure and maintain customer service excellence standards.
  • Analyse and report to the Lean Manufacturing Manager and Senior Operations Supervisor on departmental performance.
  • Directly manage the Operations Team by providing guidance, completing performance reviews, implementing professional development plans, coaching, mentoring and advising employees.
  • Ensure that reporting team members receive up-to-date training and implement cross training opportunities.
  • Maintain appropriate personnel scheduling to meet departmental labour requirements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of SOPs, SWIs, internal/external forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead investigations into food safety, quality issues and product standard and specification deviations with a root cause analysis and provide immediate corrective action, tracking and analyzing for future prevention.
  • Manage your team while ensuring ASPIRE policy and procedures are being followed.
  • Drive activity using assigned KPIs and assigned projects given by the Lean Manufacturing Manager.
  • Other related duties and required or assigned.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 2 to 3 years Supervisory experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
  • Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
  • A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
  • Continuous improvement mindset; willingness to be training in different levels of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team, in a fast paced environment; collaboration skills, as well as the ability to influence others.
  • Solid time management capabilities with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute deliverables.
