Legal Counsel

 

This is an office-based role with the option of a hybrid work arrangement.

You have obtained your Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws from an accredited institution and are licensed to practice law in Ontario. You have 4-6 years of post-call experience practicing commercial law at a law firm and/or as in-house counsel.

 

Reporting to the VP, Business Development and General Counsel, you will facilitate business growth by providing trusted, results-driven legal solutions to the Trudell Medical Group of Companies through collaboration in the development, drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements. You will also provide legal advice and counsel to the Trudell Medical Group operating companies in support of business activities and transactions.

 

Specifically, you will focus on:

 

Commercial Agreements

  • Develop, draft, update, review, and negotiate domestic and international commercial agreements by engaging with commercial, science, and administrative teams

 

Legal Counsel and Solutions

  • Advise commercial leaders on risks and liabilities of proposed commercial transactions
  • Develop creative and practical legal solutions that meet business objectives
  • Deliver legal and strategic business advice with a focus on comprehensive, long-term relationships with key commercial partners (customers and vendors), and commercial aspects of key products, programs, and services

 

Legal Administration

  • Develop form agreements, best practices, and training initiatives that meet evolving business objectives
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable domestic and international laws, regulations, and industry guidance that impacts commercial agreements
