Introduction

The Business Development Manager (B2B Sales) will be responsible for generating sales of Motif’s products and services to the Canadian LP community along with managing a portfolio of our existing, established accounts. Motif is experiencing tremendous growth and is establishing a reputation as a leading processing and product fulfillment lab in Canada. 2022 is a year of product diversification as we enter into infused pre-rolls, hydrocarbon extraction, CBN manufacturing and isolate production. In addition to our core processes, the catalogue of services is becoming robust and attractive. We require a strong and passionate sales leader to tell our story nationally and to build lasting relationships with Canada’s leading cannabis businesses.
Motif truly is a manufacturing partner to the LP community with a compelling and diverse outsourcing solution. The primary responsibility of this role is to successfully present the Motif manufacturing and fulfillment solutions to secure mandates that leverage Motif’s focused expertise and product assortment. The objective is to build long lasting, collaborative relationships that enable our partners to succeed in an increasingly competitive industry.
The successful candidate will have comprehensive knowledge of the Canadian cannabis industry and the required technical product and sales skills to represent a sophisticated production facility in a professional and convincing manner. A base network of relationships within the LP community is required.

Position Overview:

·        Self-motivated and disciplined sales habits. Role requires significant outbound sales activities and relationship building.
·        Relentless desire to learn and understand Motif’s business, capabilities and technology. Build a working knowledge of the technology, benefits, and product specifications. A passion for the end products Motif manufactures is paramount.
·        Generate business opportunities through professional networking and cold-calling. Take a long-term approach to partnerships by providing high-end solutions that grow our partner’s business.
·        Create and drive revenue through an ability and willingness to prospect, engage and close client opportunities.
·        Organize all aspects of sales related duties including: quotations, communications and reporting.
·        Manage deals from start to finish, acting as the key point of contact between client, production, quality assurance and innovation.
·        Actively listen and provide feedback on pain points, opportunities or innovations that will drive sales forward. Work closely with the operations team to ensure deal flow is seamless.
·        Document and qualify leads through an internal CRM system for the CRO
·        Meet and exceed all quarterly and annual sales quotas.
·        Build and maintain excellent relationships with clients
·        Collaborate with Motif stakeholders to create and maintain demand forecasts
·        Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing or relevant field
  • Proven track record in achieving sales quotas and KPI’s
  • Previous technical sales experience within the cannabis industry
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency in Motif products and manufacturing processes
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly; maintain focus and accuracy while working in an environment of ever-changing deadlines, priorities and requirements
  • Self-motivated and customer focused
  • Time management and follow-up skills; highly organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel regularly


Flexible working conditions: Role can be remote, with required travel to Aylmer, Ontario, and client locations.
