Role Summary

The Maintenance Systems Planner forms close relationships with maintenance technicians, lead hands and area leaders to plan and coordinate maintenance activities and projects. The Planner creates assets and establishes PMs requirements regarding machines during launch stage, as well as optimizing and continuously improving existing and new PM schedules using preventive and predictive maintenance techniques an supports the transition into Industry 4.0. The Planner utilizes analytical data evaluation tools to evaluate new and existing PMs to improve equipment efficiency to eliminate unplanned downtime and meet our business needs. The Planner is responsible for creating and managing a critical spare parts list during APQP design stage and during production which will be added to CMS for cross referencing purposes throughout production and program decommissioning.

Key Qualifications/Requirements

3+ years of manufacturing experience in a technical capacity in maintenance controls, electrical or mechanical.

Successful completion of the Pemac MMP program is a requirement either before or after hiring.

Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills.

Experienced CMS and / or CMMS user and be proficient in using Microsoft Excel

Highly analytical in nature, able to interpret, manipulate, and present data

Solid foundation of equipment reliability concepts.

Practical knowledge of risk management strategies and practices related to plant and equipment

Able to interpret preventative maintenance feedback and use this feedback to develop and implement action plans that improve our preventative maintenance programs.

Able to work in conjunction with skilled trades persons and must have an equal mix of technical and social skills.

Knowledge of and familiarity with Tooling Build Standards, Machine Build Standard is an asset.

Knowledgeable in APQP, PPAP, & PFMEA documentation and processes is an asset.

Key Responsibilities

1. Weekly plan and schedule corrective and preventive maintenance activities by task and priority level.

2. Leads a weekly scheduling meeting to achieve agreement and alignment on the upcoming week’s scheduled work, including equipment availability for maintenance activities.

3. Daily review of all Work Orders that were completed the last 24 hours.

4. Daily management and review of all new Work Requests from the last 24 hours.

5. Manage critical spare parts for new and existing programs

6. Manage work orders, documentation, and assets within the CMMS

7. Train employees on how to use the CMMS

8. Demonstrated proficiency working with MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word) is required. Knowledge of CMMS software, (Emaint knowledge is an asset) database and project software required.

9. Generate and distribute all Maintenance documentation: Work Orders and PMs, Maintenance Wrench Time, Budget spending, and KPI reports.

10. Examines jobs to be done and determines the best way to accomplish the work. Consults with the requester, area leader, or maintenance leader when necessary.

11. Strong equipment and operational knowledge is necessary. Have adequate craft knowledge to estimate labour hours and materials to visualize the job to be performed.

14. Identifies and obtains necessary materials, work instructions, manuals, appropriate tools, etc. to execute the planned work order.

15. A high level of planning and organizing skills are required to be proficient in the position. Ability to manage multiple tasks and multiple priorities simultaneously.
