Maintenance Planner
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the facility are run smoothly and efficiently. This involves co-ordination of staff, effective management of resources, and accurate tracking of progress. This role will be primarily responsible for developing standardized job plans, managing, optimizing, coordinating, and scheduling required resources to execute the plans with minimal disruption to production
Key Accountabilities:
- Develop and maintain maintenance job plans, including routine tasks such as Preventive Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance and Operator Care, utilizing Work Orders within our CMMS system (i.e. eMaint).
- Ensuring that all planned maintenance work complies with Safety, Regulatory, and industry standards.
- Working with vendors and contractors to scope, schedule, and co-ordinate equipment repairs.
- Participating in the development and implementation of maintenance policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Maintenance/MRO, Operations, Sanitation, Quality Assurance, and Health and Safety, to scope (tasks, effort, part/tool requirements, permits) and prioritize planned work.
- Acquires various quotes and negotiates contracts with suppliers and vendors, to source the best value on maintenance parts and services.
- Provide back-up coverage to the Maintenance Supervisor as required.
- As the MRO Buyer, responsible for the kitting and staging of maintenance parts, as required.
- Train maintenance technicians and operations staff in the utilization of the CMMS system, as required.
- Any other duties that may be assigned.
Requirements:
- Minimum college diploma, university degree in Engineering or MMP certification is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance or engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with implementing and in-depth knowledge of maintenance and reliability concepts.
- General knowledge of production equipment, tools and parts required (i.e. electrical, plumbing, mechanical and technical)
- Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety and Health & Safety requirements.
- Experience with using a CMMS.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Applications).
