Hydraulic Leak Technician
Primary Purpose of Position
To provide support to the plants, by identifying and tagging hydraulic oil leaks on all relevant equipment & will be required to check DCM Hydraulic Fluid levels & top up as needed. In addition to identifying the leaks, repairing minor leaks with the support of the on-shift Tradesperson.
Major Responsibilities of Position
- Housekeeping: Maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns to your supervisor.
- General: Maintain the hydraulic oil usage tracking sheet and all other documentation relating to listed duties. Review hydraulic Oil levels on all DCM’s & Trim Presses and fill as required. Tag and identify any Hydraulic leak sources. Create repair packages to repair minor leaks and work with the on-shift Tradespersons.
- Communication: Maintain the Hydraulic Oil Usage & Hydraulic Oil Leak Tracking excel sheets and communicate via email daily. Ensure all team members know how to navigate G drive to obtain information related to all Hydraulic Oil Leaks. Promote teamwork by example
- Work Orders: All work is assigned through a work order system within Meridian's ERP system Plex. Work orders must be completed upon completion of a job task with details regarding steps taken, materials used, and time taken.
- Other: Must contribute their opinion or forward ideas about improvements regarding the processes evolving around the Hydraulic leak Technician position. Provide a minimum of two (1) Kaizen project for continuous improvement annually. Cooperating with all departments to ensure that all Hydraulic leak repairs are communicated and planned.
- Other duties as required include special projects as they arise.

Educational and Certification Background

- Experience in both die cast & machining, automotive, or manufacturing environment.
- Show maturity, good judgment, reliability, verbal, and written communication skills.
- The ability to work, learn new things & thrive in a team environment.
- Knowledge of government codes, rules and regulations and be able to keep up to date of changes of these codes.
- Knowledge of company policies & procedures.
- Be familiar with the OH&S Act and Regulations.
