The Opportunity
We are recruiting a motivated and detail oriented Expeditor to assist us with our ongoing growth and evolution at SLEEGERS. Reporting to the Supply Chain Leader, you will be responsible for communicating with vendors, supply chain and the production leadership to ensure that all critical deliveries align with the production schedule. We depend on the accurate and timely movement of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Maintain constant communication with vendors to ensure that purchase orders are in place when needed, and will be shipped in a timely manner.
- Understand and influence production scheduling to ensure supplies are received and available to ensure no production shortages or stoppages.
- Communicate with internal team on issues that might cause delays.
- Anticipate problems and have contingency plans in place to solve them.
- Problem solve with vendors to rectify invoicing issues and late deliveries.
- Process all required paperwork in a timely fashion and maintain up-to-date records for reporting and tracking.
The Ideal Candidate
- College degree/diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management considered an asset
- Good organizational, time management and prioritization skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
- Ability to work efficiently as a part of a team, as well as independently
- Effective problem identification and problem resolution skills.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment considered an asset.
- Computer literate including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications; specifically, Excel
