Product Design and Sales Engineer

ZTR is looking for a driven and experienced individual to step into the exciting role of Product Design and Sales Engineer. This position will pave the way in developing, executing and managing the evolution and performance of our Maintenance of Way and RIoT Product lines into the market.

As the Product Design & Sales Engineer, you will:

• Define existing Products, including all aspects of future roadmaps, enhancements, investments, innovation and experimentation for ZTR Railcar Product portfolio, inclusive of hardware and software.
• Ensure that Product Vision aligns to global growth plans.
• Work with key technical stakeholders to drive a comprehensive Product Vision.
• Support commercial initiatives with existing prospects ensuring success throughout sales cycles including the project management of feature and deployment management.
• Work closely with customer, Commercial and Marketing teams to understand ZTR's markets and customer business models in order to set direction.
• Drive response to major RFIs, RFPs, etc.
• Work closely with MDT to ensure your expertise and knowledge is used for new product development.
• Act as product and services evangelist, both internally and externally, sharing knowledge and vision regularly, promoting required learning, culture and organizational development to support the vision.
• Support marketing with technical white papers, application notes, conference/journal proceedings, product positioning presentations, and webinars.
• Assist with technical customer support as necessary.
• Lead interaction with Technical Team including helping the team make trade-offs based on customer requirements, financial goals, etc.
• As requested, present and promote Rail products and services through participation in Marketing, customer meetings, design reviews and proposal discussions (some travel expected)
• Drive recruitment and management of supporting cast as required to achieve outlined goals

Minimum Qualifications:

• Degree in Electronics, Software, Electrical Engineering or related technology field
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant field
• 3+ years in Project / Program management
• Eng Designation is preferred
• PMP Designation is an asset
• Knowledge of electronics, sensors, communication systems, and back office technologies
• Skilled in driving and managing strategies for product portfolios while working with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and collaboration
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and understand engineering technical documents and business contracts
• Skilled in delivering persuasive presentations
• Proficient in managing and prioritizing projects under tight time and/or budget constraints
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM programs
• Ability to travel of up to 25% within the US and internationally
