Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Tool and Die Maker to join our dynamic team in a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment at our Strathroy location. Autotube is a Tier 1 fluid transfer component manufacturing company, trusted by the automotive industry for almost 50 years.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and fabricating tools, dies, fixtures, and jigs used in our stainless steel tube forming, welding, bending, and injection molding operations. This is not an apprenticeship role—applicants must demonstrate strong knowledge of tooling systems and production equipment in a high-volume setting.

Hiring for Day Shift (Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm), No Rotating Shifts!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build new tooling or fixtures from blueprints, CAD files, or verbal instructions.
  • Operate tool room equipment: mills, lathes, surface grinders, saws, EDM, etc.
  • Troubleshoot tooling failures and perform corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Modify existing tooling to support engineering changes or quality improvements.
  • Maintain detailed records of repairs and modifications.
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and production departments to support continuous improvement.
  • Follow and promote all safety policies and procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining inventory of critical tool components and spare parts.

Qualifications:
  • Licensed Tool & Die Maker (or equivalent experience with certification).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on experience in tool and die making in a manufacturing environment (automotive preferred).
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and CAD models.
  • Proficient in precision measurement and machining practices.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic press tooling and testing fixtures.
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Willing to work flexible hours or overtime as needed to support production.

Preferred Assets:
  • Experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
  • CNC programming experience is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of PLCs or automation troubleshooting.
