We are currently seeking an accomplished leader in a Global Transportation & Logistics (T&L) Manager role that will lead a team of professionals to optimize all aspects of the Trojan Technologies T&L function.

You will develop strategies, tactics and processes resulting in an optimized logistics operation that supports the organizational goals for customer satisfaction, OTD, inventory, and cost. This role provides leadership for the Trade Compliance function for the organization, ensuring alignment with all regulations and guidelines affecting T&L for Trojan Technologies. This role manages a team of 7-10 Logistics Coordinators.

 

Will work mostly onsite in our London, ON office and also spend maybe on day a week in our Guelph, ON location.

 

Accountabilities:

  • Implement solutions for optimum routing, carrier selection and cost for all global supplier and manufacturing locations. Create processes to monitor and maintains optimum carrier selection, contracts, and compliance.

  • Develop and implement global standard policies and procedures with to allow consistent monitoring of freight, duty, and Trade Compliance activities.

  • Identify, run, and report on status of duty drawback opportunities and programs. Ensure proper import record keeping and handle duty drawback and recovery programs.

  • Evaluate marketplace trends and provide price and budget guidance for targeted spend or transportation modes. Monitor budget performance, report risks and opportunities.

  • Lead cross-business savings projects, drive/monitor business-specific savings projects through supplier performance metrics.

  • Lead contract negotiations and performance reviews for transportation service providers.

  • Champion the use of standard methodology and the adoption of lean tools & techniques such as Daily Management, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, Visual Project Management, Danaher Materials System etc.

 

Qualifications

  • Business degree in Supply Chain Logistics, ISM or CPSM or CCLP or APICS (CLTD) designation

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in import, export and Global Trade Compliance requirements or Customs Clearance, and international logistics role

  • Exceptional leader and experience managing teams (large teams of up to 20 would be ideal as we continue to grow this team could expand).

  • Competence in budgeting, financial management and contract management of transportation functions

  • Knowledge of security compliance data elements (PIP, CT-PAT, Denied Party Screening, etc.)

  • CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) or similar Designation is an asset

  • Experience working with MRP/ERP system (BAAN, BAAN LN)

  • Powerful negotiation skills to improve contracts and generate savings
