Position: Student, Engineering Liaison
At General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada, we manufacture Light Armoured Vehicles in our on-site production facility. The Engineering Liaison team works directly with Engineering, Supply Chain Management and Production to investigate issues with part procurement, assembly and manufacturing that may eventually lead to an update to the engineering technical data package (TDP). We are looking for a student who is a good communicator and problem solver who is willing to learn new things while working in a team environment.
Key Job Elements and Responsibilities:
- Analyze problem reports and collaborate with stakeholders in engineering, production, supply chain management and configuration management to develop and implement corrective actions/updates to engineering TDP.
- Provide in-person support to production line as required to investigate and develop a clear understanding of issues.
- Maintain active and professional communication with all involved stakeholders.
- Support trials/tests in coordination with production and engineering.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support quality and RCCA related activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a University Degree or College Diploma in a relevant engineering discipline.
- High analytical skills to solve problems at component, subsystem and system/vehicle level.
- Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport.
- Meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with Teamcenter Active Workspace or similar PLM software.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or hands on practical experience.
- Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Knowledge of Configuration Management principles.
