RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform all full-cycle accounting duties
  • Assist in development of month end working papers and analysis of variances
  • Support preparation and processing of payroll for two entities on a bi-weekly basis, including source deductions and preparation of annual returns and reconciliations.
  • Manage AR for some regions and act as backup to AR Coordinator to support higher volume weeks or when on leave by entering sales orders, invoicing customers and following up on overdue accounts as needed.
  • Support AP as needed to ensure minimal backlog.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and related subledgers to ensure accurate records.
  • Preparation of certain recurring and non-recurring adjusting journal entries at period-ends.
  • Development of various ad hoc reports.
  • Backup for bank recs, posting payments/receipts, visas
  • Supporting quarterly review and annual audits.
  • Participate in month-end and year-end financial reporting including preparing recurring entries and schedules.
  • Administrative support to filing and scanning of documents.
  • Support Accounting Supervisor with ad-hoc requests, special projects and new initiatives as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post secondary education in Accounting/ Finance working toward CPA
  • 3 years of experience in accounting role
  • Excellent skills in the use of Microsoft applications, in particular Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with ability to meet deadlines
  • ERP (specifically D365) experience as asset
  • Payroll experience is an asset
  • Self-starter, with proven time-management skills
  • Outstanding analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
