Engineering Specialist

Arvin Sango Canada, Inc. (ASCI) is an automotive component manufacturer, specializing in vehicle exhaust systems and welded structural components.

Due to the continued growth of the company, we currently have an opportunity for a motivated Engineering Specialist for our London, Ontario facility. This position requires an applicant with hands on experience in automation, electrical, and mechanical engineering to support projects related to engineering, facilities, and maintenance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Evaluate existing manufacturing systems and develop new systems as required to optimize production methods and efficiencies, machine utilization, component capacity, material flow, worker safety, environmental stewardship, and product quality.
• Maintain the stockroom; this includes ordering components, keeping inventory adequately organized and tagged, receiving and putting away orders, and keeping the stockroom orderly.
• Work closely with the plant’s maintenance personnel on a daily basis, respond to trouble calls from manufacturing area, and support production and maintenance to help ensure smooth operation.
• Perform changes, debugging, and programming to PLC programs.
• Stay abreast of current manufacturing and engineering technologies.
• Independently solve problems to keep lines running and limit downtime.

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Afternoon shift
• Holidays
• Overtime
• Weekend availability

Job Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in manufacturing environment.
• Experience reading and updating electrical schematics.
• Working knowledge of manufacturing systems, processes, and materials, including PLC, CAD, and MS Office Suite Applications.
• Must be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or manufacturing engineering preferred.
