Supervisor, Skilled Trades (L75)

Position Description:

• Supervise skilled trades
• Support a 3-shift operation and work shifts
• Organize jobs for shift start and ensure employees adhere to safety regulations
• Prepare daily reports and track progress including implementation of new technologies
• Communicate with manufacturing on breakdowns/status/equipment availability
• Maintain equipment uptime and follow-up on all requests
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area for group
• Troubleshoot mechanical problems on machinery and equipment
• Significant overtime and weekend work is involved
• Supervisory duties such as payroll/attendance
• Monitors and adheres to all Quality Environmental and Health & Safety requirements and standards
• Work within budgets and maintain accurate employee records

Position Requirements:

• Post-secondary diploma/degree or a licensed skilled trade
• Minimum 3-5 years’ skilled trades supervision experience
• Strong computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent communication (written, oral and listening) and analytical skills
• Strong organizational/administrative skills, including being a self-starter
• Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% US & Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
• Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space
• Ability to work shifts

 
Preferred Requirements

• Experience working with MAXIMO an asset
• Heavy equipment / Tooling design experience an asset
