McCormick Canada is looking to hire a Commercialization Manager I (Project Manager). This role can be based out of either our Mississauga, ON or London, ON office. This is a hybrid role where the candidate will be allowed to work 50% in the office and 50% remote.

This Commercialization Manager I (Project Manager) will be responsible for management and cross-functional coordination of NA FAFH projects (both Branded Food Service and Custom Restaurants) such as new product innovation, product/packaging changes and optimization projects. This position provides project leadership and support of business-critical projects, including process gap identification and solutions, with cross-functional project plans. The candidate should be able to handle multiple priorities, in a fast-paced environment. Strong project management, leading cross functional teams is a requirement.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides project leadership and support of business projects to deliver new product innovation, product/packaging changes, optimization projects and product deletions.
- Ability to lead complex LX/Platform projects that could include Capital expenditures, implementing new bottle molds, new or updated lines or change parts.
- Ability to lead in a matrix organization, providing direction to cross functional team members to ensure milestones are met and project delivers against objectives.
- Portfolio responsibilities include identifying project risks, develop risk register to highlight mitigation strategy and contingency plans as needed. Ensure Sales Launch inputs are updated accurately and in a timely manner.
- Ensure that new product processes and accountabilities are understood and that there is organizational alignment and input to the project plan.
- Ability to influence all levels of the organization. This role requires a leader with excellent communication and interpersonal skills along with superior strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Assess business process to identify gaps and solutions to improve commercialization efforts. Optimizes processes for new products, line extensions, product changes, product deletions, Speed to Market initiatives, coordinated efforts of Marketing, Sales, Global Data and Supply Chain.
- Develop root cause and corrective actions of recurring product, process and service issues.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing or related discipline.
- 5+ years progressive, broad-based marketing/supply chain/commercialization experience.
- 3+ years of strong cross-functional Project Team leadership experience with demonstrated success in managing multiple, complex projects with a cross-functional team.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and influence cross-functional and make recommendations as needed.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in a matrix organization without a formal line reporting structure.
- Handle multiple priorities simultaneously and foresee and address issues before they become significant obstacles.
- Ability to work in ambiguous situations and be comfortable with the unknown. Demonstrated willingness to ask questions.
- Excels in communication (both verbal and written) that is timely, concise, transparent, accurate, and clear.
- Utilize appropriate escalation process; Communicate with Stakeholders
- Proven superior Project Management skills. PMP preferred.
- Strong skills in Microsoft including Excel and MS365
- Sound understanding of concepts, principles and practices in Marketing and Sales and a working knowledge of practices in other areas including Sales, Finance and Supply Chain.
- Ability to travel as needed (5%)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bi-lingual in Spanish
- MBA degree
- MS Project, Project Management Professional (PMP)
- Manufacturing experience a plus -general knowledge of stage gate process
- Applicants located at McC manufacturing facilities will be considered (e.g., London, Springfield, Southbend)
