Strathroy, Ontario is one of two sites located in Canada offering softgel development and manufacturing capabilities for the Pharmaceutical and Consumer Health industries. We have a broad range of integrated formulation, manufacturing, analytical and packaging services to offer full service turnkey solutions.

Position Summary:

The Packaging Engineer Technician is critical to our patients. They will participate and support day to day production including new product introductions, providing technical expertise on pack/delivery format, tooling specifications, material selection, functionality and testing of critical quality attributes. This technological leader will work to deliver customer satisfaction and with cross functional teams, will deliver product on time, with the highest quality, aligned with our vision, mission and our core values.

The Role

Duties And Responsibilities
 

• Operate under and maintain GMP conditions in a controlled environment.
• Effectively communicate on a timely basis with management and other stakeholders to ensure clear understanding and acknowledgment of project/program status, risks, actions, and outcomes.
• Develop, approve, and control technical specifications for all packaging components.
• Develop and specify tooling for all packaging equipment.
• Lead technical trials to evaluate component functionality, machine compatibility, and line performance.
• Prepare and execute process validation protocols, process validation reports, and study protocols.
• Lead/participate in continuous improvements projects.
• Represent functional area and projects at local, technical, and customer meetings.
• Lead and participation in the identification and implementation of new packaging technology.
• Support customer development, and approval for artwork.
• Support technical transfers (product, processes, and equipment).
• Coordinate with Engineering. Production, Quality and R&D.
• Lead/support Corrective Action Preventative Action implementation.
• Coordination with various packaging component vendors.
   

The Candidate

Education:
 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Chem., Indus., Mech., Elec.) or College Diploma in a production/packaging related field.
• Minimum 2 years industry experience in the development of packaging component or materials (preferably in Food or Pharma)
   

Experience:
 

• Experience working in a food manufacturing, pharmaceutical and/or GMP facility an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently, as required and complete daily activities according to schedule.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve technical or related packaging issues, lead and complete projects.
• Works respectfully and cooperatively in teams, communicates clearly and has effective listening skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Strong working knowledge of computers and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office.
