QA INSPECTOR

POSITION OVERVIEW

This Quality Assurance Inspector - Packaging will facilitate the timely release of incoming packaging materials, address non-conformances, support production issues, and other duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conducts accurate and timely evaluation of packaging materials to ensure they meet the requirements stated in the McCormick specifications.
• Identify non-conforming materials and immediately champion the appropriate follow-up actions; including issuing QNs, sending vendor letters, placing the material on hold, and applying hold tags.  Elevating the risk assessment to senior management to ensure subsequent production is not compromised. Communicates effectively with internal customers, other McCormick divisions, and suppliers when required.
• Manage QA food safety trailer program, receiving fridge temperature checks, and support incoming non-conforming trailer inspections
• Provide timely support of production issues and assist with QN investigations (ex. sampling and inspecting non-conforming inventory).
• Support packaging line/MAC trials.
• Provide backup support as necessary for other Inspector roles within QA (ex. sending customer COAs; flour tailings)

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• GED/Highschool
• Experience in a Quality Assurance setting.
• Great attention to detail and accuracy; strong communication skills; excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work independently and in a team setting.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• College diploma in a related discipline and experience in a QA setting.
