YOUR DAILY ROLE

How can you make a greater impact?

You'll invest the majority of your time in three key areas: 

  • Assume a leadership role in the plant safety, food safety, waste reduction program in our Packaging and Processing areas; 
  • Ensure production process planning objectives are met while continually analyzing, planning and implementing process improvements;
  • Participate in onboarding of new team members; coordinate team member training and monitor work performance;

 

Specifically, you will: 

  • Develop a working knowledge of equipment to support coaching and mentorship of team members; 
  • Conduct regular departmental tours and participate in daily meetings; conduct inspections of equipment and premises to ensure safety compliance;
  • Coordinate and monitor scheduling of team members to ensure proper staffing; identify staffing needs; and proactively facilitate job transfers to support workforce planning;
  • Participate in workplace investigations; administer and participate in disciplinary process where required;

 

You will report to the Operations Manager and join a team that is committed to continuous improvement of schedules, safety, and quality procedures while striving to continually improve all facets of the business. Note this role requires flexibility and shift work including weekends.

  • Excellent interpersonal/listening skills in order to interact with a diverse workforce; a communicator with proven leadership abilities;
  • Demonstrated occupational health & safety and food safety competency;
  • Outgoing, visible, and approachable demeanour with the ability to inspire and influence others;
  • Problem solving with the courage to lead change;

YOUR PROFILE

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience is preferred;
  • Mechanical and analytical aptitude and experience;
  • A proactive, self-starter approach with the ability to take initiatives and run with projects independently, working with discretion and under pressure as needed
  • A positive, energetic attitude and natural leadership qualities
