Trucking Dispatcher

We are seeking a Trucking Dispatcher who is aspiring to reach their potential in the field of construction, reporting to the General Superintendents. J-AAR Excavating is part of the John Aarts Group responsible for heavy civil contracting.??

While supporting a construction environment you will be working in-person at J-AAR Excavating’s main location in London, ON. This position can be a high-stress and demanding role. Your support may be required outside of normal work hours.???
How you will make an IMPACT?
?
- Efficiently dispatch personnel according to job scheduling and project needs or as required
- Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and other team members to allocate proper scheduling
- Prioritize urgent requests, handle emergency situations, and adjust schedules as needed to respond to unforeseen circumstances
- Ensuring TREAD Dispatch software is utilized by all truck drivers and enforce utilization of the software
- Awareness of the location of drivers/trucks at all times using TREAD Dispatch software
- Assist drivers with routing directions, delivery issues, and communicating service requirements
- Monitor road conditions, construction zones, and accidents in order to revise routes as needed
- Monitor and respond to driver calls and messages
- Update customers on the status of their deliveries including any delays that occur
- Active involvement with problem-solving of issues presented
- Proactively identify and resolve potential scheduling conflicts to minimize downtime and optimize productivity
- Other duties as assigned, including but not limited to, covering and supporting other administrative staff during our busy construction season and staff holidays??

How you WOW us??
- High School Diploma or GED preferred?
- 3 years of relevant experience in a Dispatching role is preferred
- Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Willingness to cross train
- Ability to multitask
- Works well under pressure
- Experience with Tread - Transportation Management System considered an asset
- Good customer service acumen
- Strong attention to detail
- Flexible regarding working hours
- Ability to keep accurate records??
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of programs and email?
- Strong ability to build and maintain lasting relationships??
