Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: $24-$33/hour

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Human Resources Acting Manager, the Human Resources Coordinator will provide administrative support in a wide range of human resource functions, such as health and safety, recruitment, maintaining employee files/records, assist with payroll, provide support to employees and other administrative functions. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department and Manager
  • Take on the development of HR initiatives and programs as directed by Human Resources Acting Manage
  • Maintain files and records, data entry, and document preparation
  • Support the recruitment/hiring process by completing an initial review and qualification of all resumes for active postings, performing phone screens, coordinating the scheduling of interviews and completing reference checks for selected candidates
  • Maintain the HR Metrics, collect and analyze data, and compile information for reporting
  • Prepare terms of employment, letters of employment, apprenticeship letters etc.
  • Prepare and kickoff onboarding packages for new hires
  • Assist with payroll, benefit updates, RRSP contributions, surveys/grants while maintaining accurate records
  • Assist with employee performance evaluation processes and track completion
  • Assist with coordination of employee training sessions and maintenance of training records
  • Assist with all year end components in relation to benefits, wages, spreadsheets, vacation etc.
  • Participate in HR department meetings and projects as needed
  • Work with the Marketing Department, attend monthly Marketing meetings and provide monthly HR support for the company newsletter and other projects
  • Assist with team member engagement activities including but not limited to; employee touchpoints, weekly HR Digest post, organization and execution of company events
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding Company policies and procedures
  • Provide assistance to employees for administrative requests
  • Manage the HR Document Management process including department filing as well as the ongoing maintenance and organization of all HR and employee files
  • Maintain and update all data in HRIS systems by tracking and reporting on employee data
  • Identify and notify HR Manager of workplace issues
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties as assigned

Requirements

  • University or College Diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of HR experience in a similar environment an asset
  • Knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA), and other related legislation
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365 including Power BI, data analytics and metrics is an asset
  • A keen sense of accountability and willingness to take initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
