Inventory Planner
 

Dessert Holdings is a leading baked goods platform providing premium layer cakes, cheesecakes, brownies, bars, and other desserts to the retail in-store bakery ("ISB") and foodservice channels on a largely private label basis. Position Purpose:

The Inventory Planner, at The Original Cakerie, will be instrumental in supporting the Distribution department with regards to inventory control within the ERP system, reporting inventory transactions and keeping pace with the increasing demand of the business therefore maintain stability at a transactional level.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities:

- Post all 3PL warehouse transfer orders, verify quantities and lot code dates into the ERP systems for TOC and ACC

- Manage 'QA on hold' inventory at 3PL warehouses and follow up with QA for releasing

- Manage 'lot issues' – reclassing lot numbers in the ERP system for sales orders prior to posting

- Reconcile inventory at all 3PL warehouses

- Process all inventory return receipts in the ERP system and other required inventory adjustments

- Manage inventory control activities including inventory reconciliations and assist with month end reporting

- Validate inventory concerns/discrepancies for customer service order processing

- Manage the CHEP pallet and Peco pallet programs

- Assist the Distribution manager for inventory traceability as requested by QA

- Manage aged product identification and mitigation efforts

 

Educational Requirements:

- Post-Secondary education - Business degree or related. Supply Chain at college level

- Professional designation within the Supply Chain field. Desire to continue education and SC designation

 

Experience Requirements:

- 3 years' experience in inventory related role.

- Preferably experience with finished goods inventory. Raw materials planning will be considered.

- ERP systems experience required - Microsoft Navision would be an asset

- Experience working with remote warehouse inventories specifically in 3PL relationships an asset

- Some exposure to transportation and warehouse operations an asset

 

Other Key Considerations:

- Travel is not required as a regular aspect of the position.

- Some flexibility of hours is required as a result of multiple time zones

- Support of year end or occasional FG inventory may be required

 

Job Specific Competencies Skills & Knowledge Required:

- Strong knowledge of inventory management, scheduling, forecasting and planning within a

manufacturing environment

- Proficient in MS Office with extensive spreadsheet analysis and strong mathematical skills

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Demonstrated strength in analytical and problem-solving skills

- Bias for action and able to make timely decisions
