Associate Specialist, Operations Finance

Position Description:

Position Description:

• Planning responsibilities as Financial POC for all aspects related to the assigned portfolio of internal department(s) including ; allocation rates, labour hours and expense forecasting, variance reporting and analysis, as well as other ad hoc tasks pertaining to allocation rate sensitivity
• Primary interface with Department Director(s) & Senior Management, as required, in monthly Rate & Budget Performance presentations & communications
• Timing of key actions will be routine (Monthly & Weekly), as well as non-routine, requiring short turnaround of request execution from various customers
• Routine tasks include month end reconciliations, accounting entries, headcount planning & approvals and departmental budget status reporting
• Non-routine tasks may include special expense analysis projects, ad hoc financial reporting and Oracle back-up duties
• Support both internal and external audits and financial rate development

Position Requirements:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Degree or Diploma in Business with a focus in Accounting/Finance
• Minimum 1-2 years of related work experience
• Demonstrated analytical and decision making skills
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Strong computer skills in standard Microsoft office applications
• Demonstrated skills with Oracle, Hyperion and OBIEE applications an asset
• Ability to travel (5% Canadian, 5% US & Int’l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Accounting designation (CPA-CA, CPA-CMA, CGA)
