Role Summary & Purpose

The Raw Material Planner is responsible for coordinating the planning, purchasing, and flow of raw materials required to support beverage production across bottling and canning operations. This role works closely with Production Planning, Brand, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure materials are available, accurately received, and properly managed to meet production schedules.

This is a detail-oriented, office-based role that requires strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Raw Material Planning & Purchasing

  • Coordinate with Production Planning to ensure raw materials are available to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor inventory levels and forecast material requirements to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
  • Support purchasing activities for raw materials in alignment with production needs and inventory targets.

2. Inbound & Outbound Material Coordination

  • Coordinate inbound material deliveries to ensure accurate and timely receipt of goods.
  • Oversee outbound materials to ensure proper packaging, labeling, and shipping in accordance with requirements.
  • Verify materials upon receipt for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.

3. Inventory Control & Accuracy

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and support inventory control processes.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to quantity, quality, or documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory accuracy and material flow.

4. Supplier & Stakeholder Communication

  • Communicate with suppliers and customers to confirm deliveries, resolve issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Work cross-functionally with Warehouse, Production, Logistics, and Brand teams to maintain visibility of material movements and priorities.

5. Issue Resolution & Operational Support

  • Identify and resolve issues related to material availability, damage, or delivery delays.
  • Escalate risks to production schedules or inventory accuracy in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support operational objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent required. Post-secondary education in supply chain, business, or a related field is an asset.

Experience: 3–5 years of raw material planning, purchasing, or supply chain coordination is required. Experience in consumer-packaged goods, beverage manufacturing, beer, or spirits is a strong asset.

Systems: Experience with Microsoft Business Central or similar inventory/ERP systems is required.

Technical Skills & Core Competencies:

  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage competing deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong data entry and record management capability.
  • Professional communication skills and discretion when working with client financial data.

  • Requires sustained focus, data accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
