 We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Engineering Supervisor to join our dynamic team at Canada Tubeform, a London Ontario Automotive Tier 2 manufacturing facility.  We are a progressive, growing Canadian based manufacturing business focused on the production of high-volume tubular steel components and assemblies for the automotive industry and has been in business since 2001 as a privately-owned company.  Canada Tubeform operates with advanced technology in tube forming, hydroforming, assembly, welding and fabrication utilizing a wide scope of processes producing to high quality standards as a supplier of choice.

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer Supervisor is responsible for supporting and maintaining a zero-defect philosophy at Canada Tubeform.  This is achieved through quality assurance and supervising activities involving inspection and testing of materials and parts associated with the business operation.  The role involves substantial supplier QA responsibilities while ensuring compliance to quality standards.

 
Responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance with company established quality assurance policies and procedures to support quality goals and objectives.  Assists with the APQP and Core tools of the quality assurance standards.
  • Responsible for requesting and tracking all supplier PPAP documentation, drawings, specifications and product samples.
  • Ensures internal product audits are completed on-time and evaluated regularly. Completes IATF internal audits and supplier audits.
  • Leadership of direct reports and supporting Canada Tubeform’s Key Performance Measurable and supporting ongoing maintenance review of Corrective Action Request (CAR) system.
  • Oversees internal gauge and FARO arm calibration, GR&R and MSA activities
  • Responsible for tracking, review, and disposition of all non-conformances including hold tag processing and inventory warehouse transfers.
  • Promotes and supports company policies associated with quality assurance activities to create a positive and proactive culture for all associates.
  • Coordinates adequate resources are available and utilized in supporting internal/external containment quality assurance activities.
  • Maintains strong relationships with all departments of the company to ensure that the team works effectively together in supporting both organizational and customer objectives.
  • Responsible for tracking and rectifying ERP system (Shop Edge) related issues at the London facility including coordination with Shop Edge programmers, training, data updates, and new application development.
  • Responsible for overseeing all Quality Technicians work and work schedules
  • Responsible for conducting yearly performance reviews for Quality Technicians
  • Provides back-up customer support for customer needs and other duties as assigned
  • Support production/engineering/maintenance as required
  • Occasional business travel to external contacts



Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in a quality assurance related role
  • Degree or Diploma in a manufacturing related science supplemented by credentials in quality assurance or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good working knowledge of GD&T
  • IATF experience and/or certifications an asset
  • Leadership experience and/or leadership education an asset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literacy, using Microsoft Office applications and a familiarity with quality assurance systems required
  • Experience with FARO scanning and Polyworks software an asset
  • High energy and a well-developed sense of urgency are essential requirements of the position.  Thrives in high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to travel for business purposes occasionally with the ability to obtain valid travel documentation (Canada and US)
