Position Overview

The CNC Horizontal Boring Mill Machinist / Programmer will be responsible for machining large and complex components using CNC boring mill equipment. This role requires advanced setups, fixturing, programming, and machining expertise, with a strong focus on precision, quality, and safety. This roles, at times require

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC horizontal boring mill equipment
• Machine large and small precision components to engineering specifications
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and process documentation
• Verify machined features using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges)
• Maintain product quality throughout the machining cycle and perform in-process inspections
• Follow all company safety standards and procedures
• Perform routine equipment maintenance and general shop housekeeping
• Support the Shift Supervisor and assist with additional shop floor duties as required

Physical Requirements

• This is a physically demanding role involving standing for long periods, bending, manual handling, and climbing.
• Ability to lift and maneuver heavy tooling, fixtures, and workpieces with the assistance of cranes and material-handling equipment
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, coolant, metal chips, and varying temperatures

Qualifications and Assets

Experience with the following equipment, software, and controls is considered an asset:

• CNC Horizontal Boring Mill
• Siemens 840D
• Experience machining large welded fabrications and heavy components

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $30.00 per hour
