Quality Technician
Caledon Tubing Quality Technician Team Member, St. Marys, Ontario
- Starting rate is $23.80
- Shift Premium
- Afternoon or Evening Shift

Job Summary:
To perform basic quality techniques, possibly including calibration to track, analyze and report on materials, processes and products to ensure they meet the Company's quality standards.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- One year experience in a manufacturing environment preferably in Automotive
- Knowledge of Quality standards IATF 16949 as asset
- Automotive quality experience an asset

Essential Functions:
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
- Complete paperwork completely and accurately
- Test product manufactured to ensure compliance with specifications for the following:
- Brake fluid test
- One hour water boil (in house environment) and tape adhesion test.
- Bonderite 1455 SF bath solution testing and control
- Coating thickness test using Buehler Simplimet mounting press
- Metallographic examinations of tube quality weld
- Galfan coating weight using an analytical balance.
- Internal cleanliness
- Tensile strength and elongation
- Inspect product manufactured, to ensure compliance with specifications for the following:
- Cure condition on painted tubing by MEK solvent testing
- Bend over mandrel test
- Bow test
- Clean ID test
- Flare test (samples)
- Length test
- Outside / Inner Diameter test
- Determine burst pressure test
- Reverse Flatten test (samples)
- Traceability
- Tube hardness test
- Wall thickness test
- Address lab equipment concerns.
- Perform calibration on laboratory equipment and process gauges, as requested.
- Request lab consumables and process chemicals, as required.
- Monitor and adjust process chemicals as outlined in the Laboratory Procedures Manual.
- Housekeeping
- Quality lab to be wiped down and kept clean
- Floors to be swept and washed by the end of each shift
- Garbage cans to be dumped at the end of each shift
- Work station to be clean and organized
- All other duties as requested by Team Leader or Quality Manager
Work Environment:
- Plant floor (PPE required)
- Quality lab
Physical Demands:
- Shift work
- Overtime as required

- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
