Job Summary: Working in a plant environment organizing, monitoring and controlling all consumables/production items stored in the Tool Crib. As the Back-up, you would be required to fill in for vacation days and other days off as well as your scheduled weekend shifts. This will be a hands-on role that will enable you to be a critical piece of the success of the operation and associated personnel. The Human Resources department will be screening candidates in coordination with management.

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of Grade 12- or 2-3-years' experience in a factory setting.
  • Strong communicator in the English language, both written and oral
  • Computer literate
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Inventory Control knowledge an asset
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, ability to interact with employees, and all levels of management
  • Excellent written/oral communication and excellent listening skills
  • Works well independently and in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills, able to prioritize
 

Essential Functions:

  • Organize and develop MRO parts crib. Responsible for equipment and repair parts entry and management.
  • Ensures that all spare parts inventory and materials are available for planned PM activities
  • Maintain an inventory of all items to ensure adequate supply
  • Ensure all consumables and/or products are placed in allocated areas in the MRO Crib
  • Communicate to purchasing to replenish stock as required
  • Verifying and creating part numbers to part label to ensure accuracy
  • Enter all requisitions for items in need of order replenish
  • Participate in prepping and performing quarterly inventory
  • Perform all MRO receiving functions into system
  • Responsible for keeping the MRO crib organized and clean at all times
  • Verifying product against PO, working through PO/shipment discrepancies
  • Must notify lead hand and/or supervisors of all dysfunctional and/or unsafe equipment or work practices
  • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
 

Work Environment:

  • 5% office; 95% plant floor (PPE required)
 

Physical Demands:

  • Constant standing, walking, bending and lifting (light to heavy), seldom climbing
  • Warm/Cold temperatures
  • Communication with Lead Hand, Supervisors and Management
  • Overtime as required
 

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
