Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our finance team. The Assistant Controller is responsible for full cycle accurate accounting and reporting of results and maintenance of this data in the company’s ERP system in accordance with established accounting standards and procedures.
Duties
- Responsible for the month end closing process ensuring adherence to corporate deadlines, as well as oversight of Accounts Payable & Receivable processes.
- Maintain books of accounts in accordance with established policies and IFRS.
- Coordinates with functional corporate directors regarding treasury and accounting
- HST returns reconciliation and remittances and verification of WSIB, and EHT with HR/ADP
- Review bank reconciliations and reports on organization’s cash balances and/or working capital needs
- Oversight of biweekly payroll, including reviewing data entry, liaising with the HR department
- Review supplier payments ensuring compliance with internal policies and local authority matrix.
- Manage fixed assets register, provide monthly reports to management on actual versus budgeted CAPEX.
- Accountable for ensuring balance sheet integrity, tax and other compliances and fostering a strong control environment in the company
- Comply with local and corporate reporting requirements as necessary for plant and corporate management
- Support external audit processes, provide reports and analysis needed by the external auditors.
- Coach others by providing ongoing development, mentoring and strong learning experiences for junior teammates
- Support Finance Manager in preparing forecasts and budget.
- Liaise with counterparts of other Natra group companies to reconcile intercompany balances on a monthly basis.
- Performing month end closing, reporting, and plant financial statement analysis
- Cash flow reporting
- Intercompany reconciliation
- Adhere to all prescribed Regulatory and Company requirements for Occupational Health, Safety and Environment, Food Safety and Quality Systems, HACCP, Sanitation and GMP’s.
Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field
- Recognized accounting designation preferred (CPA).
- 5+ years of cost accounting/operations experience
- 3+ or more years of leadership/management experience.
- Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, and account reconciliation processes
- Experience with account analysis and financial reporting
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

Pay: $90,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
