Quality Assurance Technician

As cannabis laws liberalize in Canada, INDIVA will continue to expand its client-friendly cannabis products. In addition, as cannabis laws liberalize internationally, INDIVA will use its Canadian operations as a platform to open new markets for its cannabis products.

Responsibilities

  • Assist QA Specialist in ensuring adherence to the Company’s QA/QC program including compliance with all aspects of the Cannabis Act, GPP, GMP requirements therein.
  • Accountable for implementation and ongoing monitoring of the quality assurance and control systems in compliance with the Cannabis Act and Regulations
  • Work closely with departmental supervisors to ensure staff are working in compliance with internal policies and procedures, external client expectations and GPPs/GMPs
  • Provide coaching and support in aspects of the QA/QC/Compliance program
  • Ensure that all processing activities are always carried out as per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) resulting in consistent quality cannabis products, this will require time spent on the production floor working closely with the production team.
  • Assists in proper documentation being accurate, complete and maintained
  • Assist in investigation of deviation reports, related corrective/preventative actions, out of specification results, customer complaint process, recalls and adverse events
  • Assists, performs internal audit program. Participates in regulatory/compliance audits such as Health Canada Inspections and vendor evaluation audits as needed
  • Co-ordinates, assures compliance to in-house and/or external product specifications and standards. Product sampling as required
  • Assists product support areas in gathering and analyzing data
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to all levels of management
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a technical discipline required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Food, Physical, or Biological Sciences preferred) is an asset
  • 1-2 years experience in cannabis facility is preferred.
  • 2 plus years experience in a quality assurance role required
  • Detail oriented and self-directed in execution of tasks required
  • Keen learner, who continually strives to improve their skills and knowledge
  • Motivated team player with strong communication skills
  • Comfortable with Microsoft office applications
