Role Summary
Under the guidance of a qualified tool & die maker, the apprentice is responsible for assisting with and/or carrying out repair/maintenance/construction of tools/fixtures/gauges/dies. The apprentice is responsible for adhering to all legislated regulations and training requirements as outlined in their signed contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Repairs/maintains/constructs tools/fixtures/gauges/dies as assigned
- Ensures appropriate fluid levels maintained/ordered for equipment/machinery
- Fills out time-tickets and log books as required
- Attends, and completes with a passing grade, the government required education
- Follow plant lockout procedure.
- Uses proper safety equipment on aerial work platforms or above 9 feet.
- Assist other maintenance trades as required.
- Uses Maintenance Reliability Manager Maintenance Program.
- Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.
- Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (egg. ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001)...
Key Qualifications/Requirements
- A minimum of 5000 hours completed
- Level 2 schooling completed at minimum
- Skill gained by experience
- Graduate or graduating from a Tool and Die post secondary program
- Industrial experience considered an asset, especially the ability to function effectively in a team environment
