About the Role
For the initial ramp-up phase of our North American operations we are looking for a Supplier Management Coordinator who wants to CELLebrate in fast-paced and fast-changing environments. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Battery Components & Supplier Management, this role is responsible for driving transparency in project progress by creating and delivering regular reports. It represents PowerCo Canada's Supplier Management team in groupwide project meetings, such as Pilothalle, and plays a key role in establishing and maintaining process standards aligned with headquarters, ensuring their consistent application across Canada. Additionally, the position serves as the main point of contact for creating visibility into global Supplier Management activities.
This is a flex hybrid work structure, where employees can work both remotely and on-site at our St. Thomas location.
Key Responsibilities
• Analyze project requirement framework (e.g. pre-series and series demands, milestone timings and TBT) to ensure precise alignment and project objectives and timelines.
• Translate technical and timing requirements into clear, actionable insights for cross-functional teams to enhance supplier management effectiveness.
• Develop and maintain a robust communication network across brands and regions by identifying and engaging key technical and procurement stakeholders.
• Align with Salzgitter the latest working processes and job-splits and ensure these are implemented at St. Thomas organization
• Create a transparent project plan that shows delays and deviations accurately and in a timely manner. Derive conclusions from project status e.g. highlight critical path, escalation etc.
• Lead supplier engagement efforts by organizing and facilitating key meetings (e.g., QTR, Kick-off, Commitment, Troubleshooting), ensuring documented accountability via signatures and system uploads.
• Independent development of the brand strategy and coordination of global procurement strategies for the overall project
• Maintain a strategic overview of tool suppliers globally, assessing their capabilities, part-specific tool timelines, and aligning them with project needs and quality benchmarks.
• Provide timely and comprehensive project status updates in cross-functional and escalation forums (e.g., SteerCo., , CSC, Pilothalle, and board meetings), facilitating strategic decision-making.
• Support and participation in product retreats, cost retreats, TOP-Q discussions, pilot halls, etc.
• Independently present project status and strategy to stakeholders, including leadership and when required, to top management or board-level meetings, clearly outlining key risks, opportunities, and their potential impact on the business.
• Advising other people holding positions in PowerCo group globally , its subsidiaries/associate companies, or cooperating organizations upon request and in consultation with the appropriate people responsible.
• Coordination of sourcing planning with all project managers and specialist group tandems
• Support planning and commissioning of capacities for COP components
• Support in dealing with bottleneck situations during start-up
• Independent and proactive participation & responsibility for a product team as well as representation in management
• Independent and proactive initiation and implementation of procurement-relevant processes analogous to PEP
• Performing individual task-related duties in accordance with the knowledge and experience of the position holder.
What you bring to the Team
• Bachelor degree, in business, engineering or similar or related fields
• At least 5 years working experience (pref. in the automotive industry)
• Background in working across borders or participating in globally distributed teams would be an asset.
• Experience in project management/-steering preferred
• Proven conflict management and problem-solving skills.
• Experience communicating and working cross-functionally with all internal and external teams.
• Affinity for numbers and measurable results.
• Knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint and Power Bi
• Pronounced strategic thinking skills.
• High sense of responsibility.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Sense of urgency while maintaining attention to detail.
• Stress tolerance/succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated/ambitious.
• Being open minded and willing to adapt.
• Accepts and supports change.
• Outstanding communicating skill Speaking Fluent in English. German is a big bonus.
