Tool Crib Attendant
 
Main Function:
The Tool Crib Attendant will be responsible for the purchasing of stock, receiving inventory, monitoring inventory levels and ordering. They will work closely with all departments to assist with logistics and efficient movement of product from stockroom to internal departments. The Stock Room Attendant is responsible for maintenance and updating of files and driving continuous improvement.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels at all locations within the facility.
  • Purchase stock as required, keeping consistent with the company’s negotiated pricing.
  • Maintain price database and preferred vendor list in SAP.
  • Continue to build and maintain inventory database.
  • Ensure physical inventory is organized as per the inventory plan. Modify and accommodate changes in inventory requirements on an as needed basis.
  • Perform weekly, monthly, and yearly cycle counts or when requested by Finance.
  • Coordinate all receiving activities and assist with the logistics of incoming deliveries by working closely with the shipping and receiving departments.
  • Liaise with the relevant departments/functions regarding delivery of supplies and keep all parties informed of any changes in a timely manner.
  • Support the day-to-day administrative operation of the Purchasing department and work closely with Buyer and Purchasing Manager to ensure efficiency and appropriate flow of materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement of logistics and efficient movement of product from stockroom to departments
  • Develop and sustain an effective filing system to maintain detailed purchase records and other documents as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate and up-to-date supplier information database for regularly purchased items.
  • Establish and maintain a good professional working relationship with suppliers, and service providers.
  • Write and distribute email, correspondence memos, letters, and forms.
  • Attend meetings, takes minutes, and prepares action sheets.
  • From time-to-time coordinate freight and package shipments.
  • Other duties and projects as required.
  • Provide assistance with the negotiation of and price checking

Experince:
  • 1-2 years of related experience.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or shop environment considered beneficial.
  • Microsoft office suite experience and skills.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems considered an asset.
 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications Required: Highschool or equivalent
Preferred: Post-secondary education (business-focus an asset)
Essential Skills & Competencies: Required: Knowledge of accounting and business basics
Preferred: Work experience with SAP in a manufacturing environment
   
Work Experience: Required: Experience in an office environment
Preferred: 1-2 years experience office experience in a manufacturing environment
