Industrial Sales Representative

Givens Machine Systems is a custom manufacturer of automated and manual machines, like conveyors, carts, robots and many PLC controlled systems located on Veterans Parkway in London. We're looking for an outside industrial sales representative to take over sales of equipment to all of Canada. You would make contact with industrial customers who are usually engineers working in factories.

We have a large shop employing 60 in London and smaller operations employing 9 in Perrysburg, Ohio and 2 in Huntsville, Alabama. We employ welders, machinists, assemblers, electricians, designers, engineers and a sales staff to create custom machinery. We usually have growth every year.

Your work would include:

-making contact with existing customers by phone or email

-cold calling to potential new customers

-visiting factories to assess projects

-writing up quotations, which describe the equipment we are offering

-meeting with designers in our own office to discuss potential customer projects

-creating spreadsheets (using templates) where the costs of projects would be calculated

-creating simple layouts in AutoCad ( we would train you in this, if necessary)

-presenting quotations to customers

Requirements

-the ability to describe machinery accurately in written English is essential

-any past sales experience is preferred, especially industrial sales experience

-a diploma or degree in engineering would be valuable, but not absolutely necessary

-strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary

-the willingness to drive to destinations in Ontario is essential, although the vast majority of the work would occur in our London office
