We’re actively searching for our next team member for the position of:

Manager, Strategic Sourcing

As Manager of Strategic Sourcing you will manage the TMI strategic sourcing team by developing and strengthening supplier partnerships. Identify and evaluate new supply partners aligning with business needs and cultural requirements.  Actively identify and implement cost reduction initiatives. Ensure effective inventory management of materials by working collaboratively with key stakeholders

Responsibilities Include:

People Management

  • Ensure staff have clarity of expectations through the delivery of objectives and understanding key deliverables
  • Treat employees fairly, consistently and equitably
  • Create an environment of engagement and empowerment allowing staff to identify and resolve problems independently and take initiative where needed
  • Support employee development, i.e. by evaluating performance, providing feedback, and supporting their growth
  • Manage employee issues to enable employees to have a high degree of focus on their jobs, i.e. by resolving employee relations issues, performance problems, and disciplinary issues

Pro-Active Supplier Management & Procurement

  • Negotiate/manage contracts, terms, and deadlines with vendors
  • Develop robust supplier relationships to maintain effective communication channels and ensure ongoing alignment across several operations teams
  • Establish strong, collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to strategically develop, implement and optimize vendor management processes, tools and policies to achieve performance objectives
  • Monitor supplier performance and meet contractual obligations
  • Develop and execute purchasing strategies to reduce cost
  • Systematically determine optimized purchase quantities and delivery times

Supply Chain Risk Management

  • Mitigate Supply Chain risk through supplier qualification, development, and alternatives
  • Develop and implement risk mitigation and contingency strategies, including dual sourcing, safety stock planning, and alternative logistics solutions to minimize disruption
  • Monitor and report supply chain risk indicators, maintain supplier risk profiles, and provide regular updates to leadership on emerging risks and mitigation actions

Interdepartmental collaboration

  • Monitor and update relevant departments regarding price fluctuations of goods and vendor pricing
  • Support Manufacturing and Quality departments to address supplier issues and escalate with supplier representatives and management as required
  • Manage and monitor TMI molding assets in collaboration with Manager, Tooling Engineering and develop capital plans for assets based on useful life, condition, and cost

Health and Safety

  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, including the Workplace Safety and Insurance Act, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Operations Management, Industrial Management or Engineering related field
  • 5+ years of managerial supply chain managerial responsibility in high demand, high volume environment, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Experience developing predictive and advanced analytics methods to assess, manage and mitigate material flow disruption issues, optimize supply chain operations, and employ lean purchasing processes
  • Experience in vendor negotiations
  • Experience in managing a global supply chain
  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Power BI, Microsoft Teams, ERP) and strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze, and identify appropriate solutions, options, and insights
  • Demand planning experience in multi-SKU seasonal business
  • Experience in ERP/MRP forecasting and item setup
  • Knowledge of contract law; principles of negotiations; procurement techniques; contract development and administration
  • Proven grasp of negotiation techniques and excellent interpersonal communication to make meaningful professional connections with Suppliers and Vendors
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Plastics Molding and Assembly Experience and knowledge
  • Electronics, Electrical contract manufacturing and component procurement
  • Advanced EXCEL skills in charts, tables, pivot tables and modeling
