About the role:

A Mechanical Designer who ensures product manufacturability, design drawing quality and standards, and performs a variety of manufacturing engineering assignments supporting Manufacturing Engineering and Production initiatives for water/wastewater treatment equipment. Working as part of a cross subject area team in a collaborative environment you will be involved in many aspects of the product lifecycle. Products will directly impact water/wastewater quality globally.

 

This role could be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement in the future which you can work 1-2 days per week from your home. The office location is based in London, ON so you would need to live a reasonable distance to accommodate coming to the office.

  • Carry out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of related engineering principles and practices
  • Ensure production drawings meet Trojan standards
  • Participate in formulating and maintaining standard work for production
  • Identify, develop, plan and implement new product assembly cell designs and processes.
  • Develop, maintain and/or improve standard work instructions used for production, material handling and maintenance activities to support capacity planning and prioritization.
  • Train production representatives prior to roll out of new assemblies and products.
  • Looks beyond the obvious symptoms to uncover their underlying root cause (5 Whys).

Are you qualified:

  • Mechanical Engineer or Technologist. Up to 5 years of related work experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of machining and welding standards
  • Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team
  • Solid understanding and experience in mechanical design
  • Problem solving and attention to detail with a strong safety and quality mentality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in using Solidworks CAD software and strong computer skills is an asset
  • Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
